Just curious as to why theres a plethora of posts denouncing Englsnd players as overrated, nobody whos considered world class and generally vilified after one result. Fast forward and a throughly professional, patient and clinical performance and nothing, just seems a bizarre way of thinking assuming most are English who post on here. Is it the same way as when fulham lose or dont play well the board seems to go into overdrive and certainly becomes busier?

Im not for one minute suggesting England have the best squad, Brazil and France are the 2 fairly clear favourites for me, but I firmly believe we are in the pack just behind and have a shot, as shown by a 2nd and 4th in last 2 tournaments. Im yet to see how kane isnt anything other than an elite level striker, his goals record is phenomenal and has 23 assists to add over last 2 seasons. The likes of Sterling, foden, saka, Maddison are high quality prem players, even the much maligned mount finished 20th in the ballon dor a couple of years ago, was a regular for Tuchel when winning champs league and got 25 odd goals and assists that season. It seems to have become almost the trend to mock our own players and say how overrated they are, when their CVs say otherwise.

Im firmly behind the team, think we had a really good group stage and will beat Senegal at a canter. Then its the big one v France, but we have a shot, even if theyre favourites. Tournament football very rarely won by the mosr attacking teams, in fact the French were saying how negative deschamps is and look how that went, its about being smart, patient and considered, a la Italy, one of the great tournament teams.
